Westbourne Absolute
Return Fund

A strategy built for all market conditions — with discipline, flexibility, and independence.

The Westbourne Absolute Return Fund is an unlisted, open-ended wholesale unit trust, focused on delivering strong, risk-adjusted returns through a long/short equity strategy. Targeting 10–20% net annualised returns, the Fund invests primarily in Australian-listed equities, aiming to generate absolute returns regardless of broader market direction.

2025

Westbourne is now embracing a more philanthropic approach to Funds Management. While wealth creation remains our top priority, we are committed to actively redistributing wealth in ways that make a meaningful impact. Our focus is on aligning financial growth with social responsibility, ensuring that our success contributes to a better future for the communities we serve.

What sets us apart

Low Correlation to Markets

We don’t follow the market — we focus on generating alpha in any environment. Our process is designed to deliver low correlation to traditional indices, offering a true diversifier for investor portfolios. Whether markets are rising or falling, we pursue opportunities with conviction and discipline.

Liquidity-Based Positioning

Capital protection begins with control. Our liquidity-aware approach ensures that we can adjust positions quickly and efficiently. We typically avoid any position that would take more than three to five days to exit, meaning we are never forced holders and always able to act decisively in volatile markets.

Our investment process

Our approach is disciplined, data-driven, and designed to uncover high-probability opportunities while preserving capital.

1.
Technical Awareness

We begin by scanning over 500 stocks in the All Ordinaries Index using proprietary technical indicators and nearly two decades of trading data. This helps us identify setups that match our risk-return criteria.

2.
Fundamental & Psychological Filter

Once flagged, potential positions undergo deep fundamental analysis — covering valuation, cash flow, balance sheet strength, and management — as well as a psychological overlay, assessing sentiment, short interest, and potential catalysts.

3.
Risk Management

Only trades with clearly defined downside risk and strong liquidity pass through. Our sizing is guided by liquidity and volatility, ensuring we retain control and avoid concentration risk.
